Wicked Finally Admits It’s Two Parts

Spoiler: Don’t be disappointed if you didn’t know that it’s a 2-part movie.

John Chu was hired to direct, with Erivo and Grande cast in their respective roles in 2021. It was also decided to split the film into two parts to meet the demands of the story’s epic scope and to expand upon the journeys of and relationships between the characters, without cutting any songs or major plot points.

Chu split the stage musical into two halves, with Wicked Part 1 to premiere in November 2024 and Wicked Part 2 set to come in 2025. And now here we are!

Spoiler 2: No singing at ‘Wicked’ the movie? Not from the theater guests, AMC says.

Singing is on the list of no-nos for guests in the theater, according to an ad being shown in the lead-up to Nov. 22 release of part one of the anticipated blockbuster.

So, let’s see how this all plays out. And, who is going to stop the singing?
