SPRING HAS SPRUNG

What does the expression “spring has sprung” mean? It is a playful and poetic way of saying that spring has arrived or that the season of spring is in full swing. It signifies the transition from winter to spring when nature comes alive, flowers start blooming, and the weather becomes warmer. It captures the sense of excitement and renewal associated with the arrival of spring! In a sentence, you might say:

  • Look at the greenery. I’d say spring has sprung, wouldn’t you?
  • Is there anything you do once spring has sprung? I like to go outdoors more, maybe for a hike or to play sports more!

Perhaps technically not one of the classic spring idioms, but a great play on words using the word ‘spring’ as both a noun and a verb.

The verb ‘to spring’ can mean to move or jump quickly, and the past participle is ‘sprung’. To say Spring has sprung simply means the season has arrived quickly or fully.

In other words, Happy Spring!

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial stands as a symbol of America’s honor and recognition of the men and women who served and sacrificed their lives in the Vietnam War. Inscribed on the black granite walls are the names of more than 58,000 men and women who gave their lives or remain missing. The Memorial is dedicated to honor the courage, sacrifice and devotion to duty and country of all who answered the call to serve during one of the most divisive wars in U.S. history.

It’s the most-visited memorial on the National Mall in Washington, attracting more than 5 million people each year – the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The most prominent feature of the memorial is a massive wall that lists the names of the more than 58,000 servicemen and women who lost their lives during the Vietnam War.

The memorial also features the Three Servicemen statue, the Vietnam Women’s Memorial, the In Memory plaque, and a flagpole with an etching of the insignia of what were then the country’s five military branches.

9 Things to Remove from your Resume

You have to reconcile the fact that, in today’s competitive job market, employers receive approximately 250 job applications for every open position. Ninety-five percent of organizations (large and small) use software known as an applicant tracking system – ATS – to screen applications and eliminate the least qualified applicants.

If your resume is among the lucky 25 percent of applications that make it past the dreaded bots, it still must pass muster with the recruiter or hiring manager. With so many applications flooding their inboxes, it’s no wonder that the average recruiter skims a resume for only six seconds before deciding if the applicant belongs in the “no” pile.

To give yourself a fighting chance to make it to the “yes” pile, follow these simple rules and get rid of the deadwood.
