The Winner of the 2026 World Cup

It began with 48 country teams competing for the right to be called world champion.

Now, it’s all over! And we do have a world champion winner.

It’s Spain, beating Argentina 1-o in a truly remarkable game.  Spain, undefeated in her last 37 games, dominated but still needed overtime to defeat stubborn Argentina.

It was one of the most one-sided World Cup finals in history. Argentina literally didn’t have a shot until the 117th minute.

Ferran Torres was the hero off the bench to score in the second-half of extra-time.

For Argentina’s hero, Lionel Messi, it wasn’t how he would’ve dreamed it. He didn’t impact the game anywhere near anyone would’ve expected him to, but what a tournament. What a player.

But it’s congratulations to Spain bringing home a well-deserved 2026 World Cup.
