In King’s iconic writing about writing, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft, he bids us care: “Let me say it again: you must not come lightly to the blank page.”
Stephen King urges writers to approach the blank page with seriousness, intent, and full emotional engagement, rather than casually or half-heartedly.
My take: Words are powerful. Your words are powerful. The work you’re doing is powerful and meaningful to people. So powerful, that perhaps you are someone’s favorite writer!
That being said, Harper Lee has also spoken something relevant to writers. I call it: Truth as Told by Harper Lee
